7 months old!

We are officially more than halfway to one year old! I absolutely cannot believe this! Or my eyes when I look at this gorgeous, happy, full-of-personality, babbling, out-of-control mover of a child! I catch glimpses of him and I see a little boy forming in place of my baby. Not already!!!!!!!! It's not fair!!!!
He is constantly surprising me by what he teaches himself how to do. This month we picked up crawling and immediately weren't satisfied until we could pull up to our feet. I quickly realized that it won't end until we have a full fledged walker! By the time I am updating for his 8 month post I am sure I will be writing about how he has already taken his first few steps. He is a mess too! Everywhere all at once. Never happy to be still!

As you can see from our photoshoot, it was all I could do to keep him in the chair. So busy! We also hit a new milestone this month. Our first earache that came from our first fever...awesome. But we have recovered! We also started to let Cooper cry it out and he has really been such a trooper! Sleeping through the night almost every night! Mommy is so well rested these days!

We have alot going on this summer! Getting ready to make our big move to Oxford, MS, taking trips to the lake, St. Louis, and Texas, and learning all kinds of new things! Check back soon for our Memorial Day festivities!

Christmas Holidays part 1

Our Aunt Heidi came to visit us from Texas before Christmas and we looove her! She is the best!

We had so much fun with her! We went all over town eating at the Pancake Pantry, shopping, and seeing a movie! We even went to a Predators game!

We hope Aunt Heidi will come and see us again soon, maybe when she's done with P.A. school in Dallas! Keep checking for more Christmas posts for the rest of our Christmas adventures!!

Smiley and Sleepy!

We are having so much fun at the Seay house! Cooper is so smiley! We strted out with just maybe one a day and now we can get him to smile almost any time! Hopefully I'll be able to catch one on camera sometime soon! It's absolutely adorable and like someone told me...such a mommy paycheck! I'm sure Diva will be able to get quite a few when she gets here on Friday.....
Also, we have been sleeping in 5 hour stretches at night! It has been so nice to get so many hours in a row. I think once Cooper hits the magic weight he'll sleep through the night like a champ! Hopefully the Christmas holidays out of town won't completely ruin our schedule. Check back later this week for Santa pictures and pictures with Aunt Heidi who's coming to visit tomorrow!

1 month old!!

Our little boy is already a month old! We can't believe time has flown so fast! Here are a few things our little boy has learned this month:
- holding head up better
-making eye contact with mommy and daddy
-grabbing toys in play gym
-staying asleep at night for 3 hours straight (not every night, but we're working on it)

Look how big I am!

We are excited about our first Thanksgiving! and Mommy is excited about having family around to help out! We'll see you all soon!

Big Boy!

Cooper is getting so big and so full of personality! He's staying awake longer during the day and making so many funny faces. We are just waiting until he decides to smile! He loves his play gym..
We took Cooper to church this weekend for a baptism class. He's being baptized next weekend at Brentwood United Methodist. All our family is so excited to be there! He enjoyed his first trip to Sunday school and can't wait to hang out with all his new buddies!
Just look at our cute whale sweater!! We are getting some better sleep, so mommy and daddy (especially mommy) are feeling much more like themselves! We are so excited about everyone coming to visit next week! We'll see our Diva and Papa on Saturday and Uncle Witt on Monday. Stay tuned for new pictures of the holidays and daddy's birthday!

Travel Sized

This weekend was Cooper's second weekend at Momma Sue's house. Things went even better than last weekend! Mommy didn't forget anything important and Cooper slept much better at night. We might have this travel thing down by Christmas. Daddy and Aunt Emily went to watch Tennessee play Memphis and we are all looking forward to Cooper's first Tennessee game! (It might be quite awhile!!) Grammy and Grampy came to visit on Sunday, because they just couldn't stand not seeing how big Mr. Cooper has gotten! Daddy got to feed Cooper for the first time and loved it! Mommy is happy about surviving her week alone with Cooper last week and looking forward to another one!

Fun and Froggie Halloween

Things have been moving along at quite a fast pace here in the Seay house! Lots to catch up on....Ryan took off 3 days last week to stay home with mommy and Cooper after Diva left. Mommy was very relieved to not have to be all alone just yet! Cooper took his first trip to he mall and we have learned he definitely loves his stroller! We also took our first trip to Momma Sue's house in Crossville. Daddy and Aunt Emily went to see Tennessee beat up on South Carolina while mommy and Cooper hung out with all the new cousins. Cooper met his Aunt Suzy, Abby, Uncle Earl and Aunt Rachel, Becca, Ben, Luke and Matt, Uncle Rob and Trish, and Aunt Bekki and Jason and Jacob! We had so much fun and Cooper loved being held all day! We even put on our frog Halloween costume for some pictures!
Mommy and Cooper both had doctor appointments on Monday (mommy's first day all alone with Cooper). Everyone is doing great and Mr. Cooper now weighs 8lbs 4oz!! He is such a big boy and already looks so different than when we brought him home. This weekend we are going back to Momma Sue's house for more family fun. For now we're just hanging out at home trying to figure each other out!

Our Little Pumpkin in the Patch

Cooper had a big weekend with the family.  Not only did he turn one week old, but we took lots of field trips too.  On Saturday we all went to Martin's for lunch (Diva had to have some pork BBQ), then Grampy grilled hamburgers.  On his one week birthday we took him to the pumpkin patch for some pictures (check out the album here).  Cooper does love the paparazzi after all!  We found this one pumpkin on sale for only a dollar and just had to snatch him up!  Belle is still having a rough time adjusting but we think she'll be okay soon enough...she manages to get closer and closer every day.  We all have a busy week ahead of us and unfortunately Diva is leaving on Tuesday.  Lucky for us, though, the nights are getting a little better and we have several dinners coming from friends this week.  Thanks everyone in advance!

First Day Out

Cooper had an exciting first day out of the house today!  We went to Chick Fil A for lunch, Target to attempt to find him a UT outfit for the football game tomorrow, and finally his first doctor appointment.  Cooper behaved himself very well at the doctor.  Everything checked out great, but he has lost 3 ounces and shrunk 1/2 inch (we aren't really sure about that).  He's still eating good and peeing/pooping on a record pace.  We still aren't sure how it's possible for something that little to produce so much "stuff".

Last night was a little rough on Susan...Ryan helped out some but apparently he thought he did more than he actually did.  Surprisingly enough, snoring does not actually change a diaper.  Uncle Ed and Sandi came to visit on their way to the Ballet tonight.  Sandi took our first picture of the complete family, Belle included.  Danielle and James also came over tonight and brought us some dessert.  We now have brownies, cookie cake, chess squares and apple pie in our kitchen and just learned that Grammy and Grampy are bringing two more pies!  We're going to start sending visitors home with something sweet.

On a side note, we have grossly underestimated the amount of time necessary to prepare a child for an adventure outside the house.  It feels like it took us 4 hours to get ready today.  We also have underestimated the amount of laundry a small child requires.  It's hard to keep clothes and blankets clean when he keeps peeing on them!

Home At Last!

Well we finally made it home around 1:00 this afternoon and everyone is doing great.  Mommy is still recovering from the surgery but is getting around pretty good.  Cooper had several visitors tonight.  Mama Sue came to spend the night with us and Josh, Bekah and Claire came to bring us dinner (which was delicious!).  Kyle and Liz came by too and brought us a cookie cake which will definitely be gone soon.  Cooper's first experience in the swing was great.  He slept like a rock while we all ate dinner.  Belle has been extremely jealous today but I guess we all expected that considering she's such a baby.  We are hoping for a smooth first night home...fingers crossed!

Day Two

Cooper had a rough day today.  As Diva put it, he had his "pencil sharpened" this morning.  And to make things worse, the photographer came in to take his newborn photos.  Needless to say he was less than thrilled.  He finally calmed down this afternoon once he had some alone time with his momma.  Daddy went back to work today so he could take some time off when Diva leaves.  Grammy and Grampy went back home this afternoon but they will be back soon.  Cooper is looking forward to going home tomorrow and meeting his big sister Belle!  As long as nothing changes we will be home by dinner tomorrow night.  We are very thankful that Bekah has offered to bring us dinner.

Day One

Day One was a big day for Cooper.  He passed his hearing test with flying colors, ate and pooped like crazy (daddy changed his first dirty diaper ever), received his birth certificate and got to meet several new friends.  We've quickly found out that Cooper is a momma's baby because he only seems to be happy when she's holding him.  Lucky for us Diva is here to help out and is doing a great job.  Momma still hasn't had much sleep at all and is really exhausted.  Even though she hasn't had much rest she recovering well from the surgery. Thanks to everyone for thinking about us and all the calls/emails/text messages...we have great families and friends and appreciate all your support.

Today is the Day!

Susan woke me up at 3:00 this morning to tell me that her water broke.  We've been in the hospital for 9 hours now and things are progressing smoothly.  If things go as planned it looks like Cooper should be coming at some point today!  We will post pictures as soon as he's here.

10 Days and Counting!

Cooper is officially due in 10 days and his mother is miserable!  We are hoping he makes his appearance soon as we know everyone is excited about his arrival.  The nursery is done (for the most part) and the car seat is installed...just need the baby.  Belle told us today that she is excited but we think she's lying.  We think she realizes how her life is about to change but is afraid to admit it.  We will keep everyone updated on Susan's progress.  Keep checking the blog for Cooper's first picture!
