The Great Disney Blog Post part 3:Epcot

For our second day in the parks we headed to Epcot! It had been a long time since any of us had been to this park, so no one really knew what to expect!
the bus ride to Epcot!
We got there before they opened the turnstiles and were in a great place to hit the busy rides first! While Grammy, Grampy and Emi took Cooper to the Land pavilion, Ryan and I got fastpasses for everyone for Test Track. We headed over to meet them and ride Soarin' first. Well, we found out quickly that Cooper was just short of tall enough. So Grammy, Grampy and Emi rode and we got a baby swap pass for Ryan and me. While they were riding we rode Living with the Land, a great boat ride through the agricultural testing area in Epcot. Cooper loved it! When they were done we swaped off and they rode Living with the Land while Ryan and I rode Soarin'. When we were off we all headed to Test Track! Grammy and Cooper opted to skip (Coop not being tall enough for that one either) and get some early morning cotton candy instead (it is Disney after all.)

After Test Track, we went over to the Seas pavilion to ride Nemo! It was really cute and it was one of Cooper's favorites! Imagination with Figment was next and then lunch at Sunshine Seasons.

We went back to the resort for a nap (and a lot of unanticipated extra walking) but before we knew it it was time to head back to Epcot. Grammy, Cooper and I went to catch Nemo and Turtle Talk with Crush before the Seas pavilion closed (at 5pm that evening.) Grampy, Ryan, and Emi had more Test Track fastpasses to use and while waiting for those headed to Spaceship Earth.

After Test Track we all took a trip into the World Showcase! Mexico and the Gran Fiesta Tour! We love Donald Duck and the Three Caballeros! We all wandered around in search of dinner around the world. Grammy and Grampy ate in Mexico and Ryan, Emi and I ate in Morocco. Cooper (being a 3 year old ) ate in America.

After walking around the world we stopped in at The Toy Soldier in the UK to meet Pooh and Piglet! Cooper wasn't receptive to Buzz and Woody (two characters he loves,) but they were all he talked about so we thought we'd give the character meets another go. So glad we did, Cooper gave both Pooh and Piglet big hugs and stood in between them for pictures! It was so sweet!!

We met back up with Grammy and Grampy to get some sweets and watch Illuminations (the fireworks show.) Cooper loved the fireworks and was so sad when they were over!

So proud of our light up Buzz (I got on Black Friday for so cheap!)

Next up: Animal Kingdom, breakfast with Mickey!, and dinner at 'Ohana.

The Great Disney Blog Post 2: Hollywood Studios

We were up early for our first day in the parks! We didn't really know what to expect, but since I'd been planning (like a crazy person) we knew we needed to be there before park opening to get in line. We conquered the mad rush to Toy Story Mania and got fastpasses and rode once in stand-by with practically no wait. Cooper loved it (rode with Mommy the first time.)

After that awesome ride (Cooper's first Disney ride!) we headed over to meet Buzz and Woody. Cooper was really excited (Buzz is his favorite) but when we got up there he refused to look at them and wouldn't cooperate at all. He managed to smile with me holding him, but afterwards it was ALL he talked about!

After that, we headed over to Toy Story Mania to use our fastpasses. We then had time to ride the Great Movie Ride before grabbing lunch. Cooper was super unsure at first and his fears were realized when the cowboys came out and stated having a real (not) live shootout over our ride car. When the bank went up in flames, he lost it. He cried for most of the rest of the ride, with short breaks for certain non-scary scenes. He still talks about the scary ride. After that, we ate some lunch and Ryan and I went to ride Tower of Terror! We stopped in for the Indiana Jones stunt show (Cooper napped through it) and then Ryan, Emily and I headed to the Rock-N-Rollercoaster to use the last of our fastpasses for the day.

We met up with Grammy, Grampy and Cooper while they watched the parade and then Grammy, Cooper and I went to the Disney Jr. Live on Stage show while the others did Star Tours. We all saw Muppets 3D (so cute) after that and went to the Studio Catering Co. for dinner. After a quick meal we headed out to the Streets of America to watch the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. The lights were beautiful and we got some great pictures! After we had our fill of lights we crossed the park to get into the Fantasmic theater! The show was so cool! It was our first glimpse of Mickey, and Cooper was just in awe the whole show! The park closed after the show and we went back to the resort to get ready for our day at Epcot!

The Great Disney Trip part 1

Each day of our trip shall receive its own blog entry. There are too many awesome details that I don't want to forget. And I'll leave so much out if I just skip through and post it all in one big ramble.

So here goes, day one consisted of our flight down to Disney, checking out the resort, and Downtown Disney. We spent the night in Birmingham and left at the crack of dawn to get to the airport. I mean, woke up at 4:30am early. But getting up early is easier when you are headed somewhere awesome like Disney!

The flight was great (non-stop flight) and we landed in Orlando in no time! The Orlando airport is the happiest airport ever! Mickey everywhere and so many people arriving are headed to the happiest place on Earth.

We followed the signs to the Magic Express and walked right onto the big bus! On the way to the resort we got to watch a cute film about the parks and characters. Before we knew it we were at the All-Start Sports resort!

Cooper loved the resort! There were sports pictures and sports themed everything! He watched some cartoons while we checked in then we went to the food court for lunch while we waited for our room. After lunch we let Cooper run around on the football field with some other kids (it was probably his favorite part!)

After getting settled in our rooms and taking some naps we headed to Downtown Disney! There were so many shops and restaurants! We had a blast in the World of Disney store, looking at all the pins, and checking out the decorations! We had Cooper's silhouette made (so precious) and ate dinner at Earl of Sandwich (so yummy.) After we all picked up a few happies we made our way back to the resort for some much needed sleep! Next up Hollywood Studios!

Christmas with a 3 year old

Christmas gets more magical every year. Cooper is really into Christmas. Last year he had fun but got tired of opening presents by the end of the day and was hard to keep quiet in church. This year he was full force the whole way! He had a blast doing Christmas stuff leading up to the big day and now that he can spell his name, he had fun finding all his presents under Momma Sue's tree. He also liked making a case for opening them right away. Church was great this year, he liked the children's message and singing all the songs. Santa was a huge deal this year and he loved that he got presents that weren't "poopy prizes." I love that he enjoys spending time with all our family and can enjoy all the wonderful things about the Christmas season.

In his new boots and hat. He kept saying "yeehaw! howdy partner!"

Santa brought him a Buzz and Woody!
