7 months old!

We are officially more than halfway to one year old! I absolutely cannot believe this! Or my eyes when I look at this gorgeous, happy, full-of-personality, babbling, out-of-control mover of a child! I catch glimpses of him and I see a little boy forming in place of my baby. Not already!!!!!!!! It's not fair!!!!
He is constantly surprising me by what he teaches himself how to do. This month we picked up crawling and immediately weren't satisfied until we could pull up to our feet. I quickly realized that it won't end until we have a full fledged walker! By the time I am updating for his 8 month post I am sure I will be writing about how he has already taken his first few steps. He is a mess too! Everywhere all at once. Never happy to be still!

As you can see from our photoshoot, it was all I could do to keep him in the chair. So busy! We also hit a new milestone this month. Our first earache that came from our first fever...awesome. But we have recovered! We also started to let Cooper cry it out and he has really been such a trooper! Sleeping through the night almost every night! Mommy is so well rested these days!

We have alot going on this summer! Getting ready to make our big move to Oxford, MS, taking trips to the lake, St. Louis, and Texas, and learning all kinds of new things! Check back soon for our Memorial Day festivities!

And the Award Goes To....

Well, it's not quite an Oscar......but it's my very first blog award!!! Yay!!!!! My friend and lovely mommy blogger Lucy (not really her name) nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger Award on her blog A Modern Day Ricky and Lucy. She is fabulous and you should check her blog!

Ok here are the rules :
Copy the award to your blog.
Insert a link to the person who nominated you.
Tell us seven things about yourself that you haven't told us before.
Nominate seven other bloggers for the award.
Link to their blogs.
Tell the nominees about their award.

1. When I moved to Texas, my friends all thought I was lying about what I did in my old school...my list is as follows: Cheerleader, Swim Team, Theater, Honor classes...It's a wide variety I know. I wouldn't believe me either.
2. I spent my entire after school time in middle school doing all around gymnastics (like the Olympics) We were there 17 hours a week. From directly after school until bed time.
3. With all of the sports I have participated in, I have only broken one bone in my life. I was five and not playing any sport at the time.
4. I auditioned for Nashville star last season and made it past the first round. and I cried when i didn't make it past the next one. (We'll blame it on the sunburn and having waited in line all day long.)
5. I can eat my weight in spaghetti...seriously..I can eat alot.
6. I love desserts, but when I was pregnant with Cooper I didn't want to look at anything chocolate!
7. Thinking of 7 whole things that no one knows about me are really hard....apparently everyone knows everything about me.

Ok here are the 7 blogs that I'm nominating

Creepy Crawler...

Well a crawler, but not so much creepy. Our little monkey is everywhere! He has been scooting on his stomach since he turned 6 months, but recently (well, while my mom was here) he just hopped up on all fours and took off! He has never looked back and as far as we can tell he will be walking in no time. He is already pulling up to his knees easily and has pulled up to his feet once or twice by himself. We are in for it! He is in places we never thought he would find and continues to show intense interest in the dog's water bowl. Check out the videos on our smugmug site!! We turn 7 months in 2 days and will tackle the massive task of weaning soon! Mommy is kind of sad, but we all think it's time.

Oh and we fixed the comment problem....please comment away!!

A visit from Diva and the flood of the century

May started out with quite the bang here in Seay World (ooo I like that!!) We were so looking forward to our Diva coming to visit! We hadn't seen her since February when we went to Texas for Pawpaw's birthday. We picked her up at the airport and wasted no time smiling and showing her all our new tricks. Cooper even crawled on all fours for the first time on the same day Diva got here. Then she cried! It was really sweet.

On Saturday, Momma Sue came to visit too! How could she resist her favorite daughter, grand daughter, and great grand son only 2 hours away and all in the same house? She couldn't..so much in fact that when we saw the weather forecast we begged her to stay where she was...not gonna happen! She braved the storms and made the drive from Crossville. When she arrived it was only sprinkling and we decided the mall would be a great rainy day outing.

Fast forward to that night...the entire city is under water...we barely made it home. Nashville is a disaster zone and thousands are without power, water, and homes. To say that we are lucky is truly an understatement. Neither our home in Nolensville or the condo we are staying in (that is a whole other post) was touched by flood waters. No one we know was hurt or is in great need of anything. We were fortunate! But needless to say Diva's visit was eventful and yet boring at the same time. We were trapped in our neighborhood so we spent the whole weekend chillin at the house. We even spent 2 hours playing Rockband (I attempted the drums for the first time...I'm usually the vocalist).

We are so glad Diva came to see us and can't wait to go back in only one month to Texas! I'm sure Diva and Pawpaw have alot of fun things planned!
