Diva and Pawpaw here we come!

We took a trip out to Texas to see Diva and Pawpaw for Spring break! It was the first time Coop has been out there since last summer so I wasn't sure how he would do on the plane or if he would remember being at their house and sleep well. But he did so great (even when his DVD player died 30 minutes into the first flight!) He was so good while we were there and got to do so many fun things. He loves spending time with Diva and Pawpaw especially because we don't get to see them all the time (that also gives them a bigger reason to spoil him while we're there ;)) Here are some highlights of our fabulous vacation to the beautiful city of Midland!

Riding the train at the Abilene Zoo

Riding again with Diva

Bowling with Diva

Golfing with Pawpaw at the club

Racers, Racers, Goooo Racers!

Ryan grew up in Murray, Ky and we met while both in school at Murray State. While we support many schools in athletics, Murray State will always hold a special place in our hearts! Every year we try to make it to at least one game (and the OVC tournament) to cheer on the Racers. This year that game happened to be the Bracket Buster match against St. Mary's. The same game that the famed announcer Dickie V came to visit Murray for the first time to call the game. We had so much fun seeing everyone and getting to catch up with a few friends we don't get to see that often. It also made the trip sweeter when we beat St. Mary's pretty convincingly on a national stage. Go Racers!

I promise we're still here!

I have been majorly slacking in the blog arena lately.,..but I'm trying to catch up! Bear with me...

Cooper and I have been hanging out with a wonderful group of women in Oxford belonging to the group Oxford Moms and Tots. It is so nice to have organized activities to take Cooper to and visit with other moms. We went with the group to the Children's Museum of Memphis and Cooper had a blast! He was so into the interactive games and loved running around! They had a river that the kids could "fish" in and I had to rip him away to try other things..We will definitely be going back again!

A Day of Love

Valentine's day with my boys was so much fun this year! The day before Cooper had a party at school. His little class all wore red/pink and ate cookies at snack time. They got goody bags and i got to watch them have storytime. It was so cute to see him in his element! He loves school and his teachers so much!

The actual day of Valentine's day was quiet but fun. Daddy and Cooper took me out to lunch to get pizza. And I made spaghetti for dinner. Cooper got a great little Valentine's gift box from Diva and Pawpaw with some Thomas happy's and other little goodies. He also got a new Thomas train from Grammy and Grampy when we went to Murray and he got the movie Cars from mommy and daddy. Holidays are getting so much more exciting for him and we are looking forward to St. Patrick's day and Easter!

The first of many...

We had our first trip to the ER last night! Yay milestones..... So here's the story (because I don't want to forget the details.) I was Skyping with my mom when Ryan got home from school. Cooper was so excited and ran to the kitchen door to greet him with arms open wide (doesn't happen to often, he's usually too busy playing to notice any arrivals.) So Cooper decided that he wanted to play ball with dad right away. He got his ball and ran to Ryan to throw it. While Cooper hurled (yes, hurled) the ball toward Ryan, he twisted himself around and his feet slipped out from under him...sending his sweet little chin straight down into the floor. I am still on Skype with my mom at this point and we both hear the crash. Ryan says something about looking at it and says "Whoa, that's a good one." Then he brings my bleeding baby around the corner to let me inspect the damage. I end my call and take a look at the carnage. He had a pretty good sized gash right under his chin, about 1/2 an inch to an inch long, and every time he moved his mouth it would spread open and blood would gush out. Awesome. We managed to calm him down and slow/stop the bleeding. Had I been equipped with anything more than Scooby Doo band-aids, we probably could have handled the situation at home with a good butterfly shaped bandage. However, this was my baby's first serious cut and I felt better making sure he didn't need stitches.
Cooper did awesome at the ER and the whole time he was being checked out. He kept asking us to rock him like a baby and was concerned about the gum in our mouths. The nurses were so nice and since they knew it would only take 5 minutes to glue his cut shut they made sure we got it taken care of quickly. He held so still while the Dr. glued him shut and told us repeatedly that he expected a treat when he was "all better."
We took him to Wendy's for chicken and a frosty, and while we were waiting he told us , "Thank you for taking me to the doctor." It was so pitiful and almost made me cry. He was fine the rest of thing evening and went to sleep just fine. All together, not the worst first ER visit we could have had...and if he turns out to be a hockey player like he keeps telling me he will...we will have way more to look forward to. ugh.

Hockey and Trains!

After Christmas we made sure to get some fun activities in while with family. We went to a Predators hockey game with Grampy, Grammy, and Aunt Linda. Cooper has developed an obsession with hockey and was in his element. He loves the lights, sounds and especially Knash the predator mascot. He asks everyday to go to a hockey game and there's not a day that goes by when we don't play hockey at home. We don't know if this obsession will last (maybe only until baseball season) but if it does we will have to invest in the ice skates he also asks for everyday (such a funny boy!)

We also took him down to the old Cookeville train depot to hang out with the trains (another current favorite thing.) He had a blast and we will have to go visit every time we visit grammy and grampy!

Behind, behind, behind!

I have been putting off a Christmas post for the longest..but it's time to just bite the bullet and catch up! So here goes:
We went to Bass pro in Nashville to meet Santa. Not as great a set-up/experience as last year, but it was free...so I guess it'll work

no tears= a win

While at Bass Pro Coop got to ride on the carousel. Which he loved and proceeded to do 2 more times. We had to drag him out of there...
We spent the week before Christmas at Momma Sue's house and got to spend time doing all sorts of fun things with family!
playing with the Thomas table at the library

showing off our new Santa slippers

playing with our cousin Holly

going to the Christmas Eve service at First Methodist

and opening tons of presents

and then opening some more...

Merry Christmas (even if it's a month late) from the Seay family!
