Visit from Cousins and a Hike...

When Ryan and I got married, his cousin Laura and her husband Pete brought their new baby Frankie to the wedding. He was the cutest little bundle with a head full of black hair. Over Memorial Day weekend they all came to visit from North Carolina! Cooper had never met Frankie so we were so excited to see how they would get along. Frankie is such an awesome kid. So smart, polite and funny! Cooper loved him and smile every day when they would get to the house. Here are some pics of them playing together:

We also headed up to Fall Creek Falls one day while Cooper was napping. It was a good hike that Coop may not be ready for for a few years. It was such a cool park! They had a playground at the entrance, lots of places to stop and take pictures and the prettiest waterfalls! Frankie had a blast, as did the rest of us.

If I can get Ryan to upload some pictures from his computer to smug mug I will have many pictures of our 4th of July activities. Hopefully I can get him to do it before December.

Lazy Lake Days

Okay, so I'm back and sooo sorry I haven't posted in a while. I had every intention of keeping up with the blog while we are on our Summer Tour 2011. However, I got a little behind due to my Smugmug account being wacky. Afterwards, I just couldn't keep it up and get back to it. Oh well, I'm back in action and hopefully I can get it together and blog the rest of the summer. Lots to catch up on...

Cooper has grown into a huge big boy overnight (I swear he looks like he's 12.) He is putting words together and can definitely let me know what he wants and how. He has more words than I can count and he gets more everyday. Today he said "Home Depot." Swear. He also has amazing enunciation..It's like he won't say a word until he can say it perfectly clear. He is such a wild boy too. Jumping and running does not stop until he is knocked out asleep. He could go until midnight if we let him...I am DREADING the move to a big boy bed.

Anyways, we spent the first few weeks of summer at the lake! Cooper loves it and especially loves to drive Grampy's boat and honk the horn. Swimming is also a new love. He is a fish and just takes off all by himself. I'm glad he feels confident enough to jump in but goodness he scares everyone else with his bravery. :-) Here are some pictures of our first few weeks at the lake!

Tomorrow a post on Frankie's visit and Fall creek Falls!

This Place Is A Zoo!

As soon as Ryan was finished with school for the semester we headed to the Memphis to take Cooper to the zoo!. Last year he went to the St. Louis Zoo ( totally recommend it to EVERYONE) but was only 9 months old. He had fun of course, but didn't really "get it." Recently he has been into animal sounds and movements so we knew he would be pumped. He LOVED everything about it. It was so fun to watch him be amazed at seeing real-life versions of the animals he loves in books. The elephants were definitely his favorite ( we saw them twice) but he also loved the polar bear, giraffes, and monkeys. Here are the pictures our our zoo day:
We are hoping Santa brings us a family zoo membership for next year (hint hint to those who this applies to.) ;-)

Hippity, Hoppity, Easter's...well it's waaaaayyyy past due

Here is another catch up post (since I am still playing catch up from our laptops stroke.)

Easter was so much fun this year! Cooper was only 6 months old last Easter so all the hooplah was mainly for us. But this year was all about the big man (Jesus...and Coop. haha) Grammy, Grampy and Emily came down to celebrate since we had a playset to build (see last post) and some other house projects to complete. Here are some highlights:

We took Cooper to the city Easter Egg hunt. Chick fil A coupons, tons of eggs, and baby ducks all on a baseball field. Cooper's version of heaven.

We opened Easter presents and baskets (yes plural, thanks Grammy and Grampy)...

And we went to church looking like a young Christopher Robin (sigh, so much cuteness)..

Oh yeah...and we had ANOTHER egg hunt in our yard church, lunch (at Casa Mexicana...I know) and a nap...

Yay, now we are all caught up on Easter....if only I were caught up on everything left to catch up on. Oh well, now that we are relaxing at the lake I can hopefully post some everyday. Maybe I'll be caught up before we leave for Texas..only 2 weeks!

A Tale of Two Swings...and a slide, and a pirate wheel, and a rock wall...

Cooper really appreciates the outdoors. Anytime we to go somewhere I have to carry him out the door to the car or he will run like an escaping convict down the driveway. He will do anything to play outside and will stay out there until I drag him kick and screaming (literally) inside. His Diva decided he needed his first swingset, so we went to Home Depot to pick one out. We found the perfect one (not too big and not too boring) and had it waiting for us in will call. We waited until Grampy and Grammy came in to town for Easter so that we'd have a few extra hands to help build the monstrosity (did I say not too big? ha.) This is how the pieces and parts looked in the yard:
Grampy and Daddy worked all day Saturday and on Sunday Aunt Emmy and I joined in to make sure it got done before our extra hands left to go home. By 7pm Sunday night we were left with this:
And there is one little boy who LOVES it:
So a big thanks to Diva, Grampy, Daddy, Emmy, and Grammy (for Cooper wrangling while we built.) You all have made a wild heathen child even more accident prone. I'll be sending you the hospital bill. Just kidding, we will be careful. We really do love it....promise.

Back in business/ Diva's visit

O....K.... we are finally, FINALLY back in business. The laptop has been repaired and returned safe and sound, though every time I turn it off I feel like I have to give it a pep talk or it won't turn back on the next morning. I literally hold my breath when I hit the "shutdown" button. But apparently it is fine and has been working great for 2 days now.

I got the chance to upload the 240ish pictures that I had taken in a month..gosh that sounds a little much..but we did have quite a few momentous events take place in that month. Lots of photo ops. For the sake of keeping up the blog while we are out of town and running ourselves ragged I will try to space out the blog updates. Also, I don't want to overwhelm anyone with cuteness. So on to the first:

Diva came to Oxford to visit a few weeks before Easter and we had the BEST time! We drove to Southaven to pick her up and eat lunch with her and Pawpaw.
Then we spent the whole weekend shopping, playing around the house and running wild. Just how we like it. Diva even came with us to watch our AOPi girls dance for Derby Days. Cooper got into the fiesta theme by rocking the 'stache.
and riding a pinata
We can't wait to go see Diva in a few weeks in Texas. I hope Pawpaw is ready for the cuteness that is Cooper saying "pawpaw." It will melt an ice cold heart. By the way we have had a total word vomit recently. Cooper has turned into a parrot and will pretty much attempt to say any word you ask him to say. Most of the time it is dead-on. (Mommy and Daddy are now aware that they have to really watch their potty mouths because the last thing we need is Cooper walking into Sunday School saying four letter words...not that we EVER say those in our house ;) ) He can tell you what he wants most of the time, but he really abuses the words baseball and football..also juice. Growing is happening in this house people. The kiddo is tall..I mean "reaches doorknobs and nothing is out of his reach" tall. I am so excited to travel with him this summer and watch him learn what summertime is all about. This kid loves outside like nothing else. It will be awesome.

Ok, so now that we have our first catch up post keep a lookout for another catch up post in the next couple days....like I said don't want to overload on cuteness.

I promise I'm alive...

You may have noticed that a few weeks have gone by without a recap of Diva's visit or of James and Danielle's visit, or Easter...well, this is due to the fact that my laptop (that I upload all my pictures to and use during the day) has bitten the dust. It is currently being repaired and as soon as it is back in my arms I will share all the adorable pictures of my little cutie pie. Also, I haven't posted because without the pictures I don't feel like anyone would read it anyway...Cooper is the draw after all. So hopefully by the end of this week we should have it back and I can catch you up. Until then....
